Induction motors are the
first choice of industriesbut for variable speed drive application, induction motors were not suitable till recent years. We have now developed 3 phase as well as single phase inverters for 3 phase as well as single phase induction motors to suit its characteristics for variable speed application i.e; it keeps voltage to frequency ratio constant and O/P. voltage is modulated sine wave to reduce harmonics. The speed of induction motor is varied by varying the frequency as per formula.
